Gavin is NOW AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION as of August 25th, 2014. What can I say about Gavin. He's an incredible cat!!! Our shelter put an addition on about 2 1/2 years ago. When Gavin was moved to our beautiful free roaming cat room, we shortly noticed changes in him. He slowly lost weight, became lethargic and was quickly taken to the Vet. It was thought that he wouldn't survive. I brought him home and he was medicated 4 times a day with 4 different medications. He was comfortable and not in pain, and eventually was diagnosed with Auto Immune Disease. After about 6 months he started gaining weight, getting his color back and becoming the old Gavin. There was no explanation originally but after conversations with his Veterinarian recently it was thought that Gavin did not do well with the building/construction of the addition. Gavin has been well for 18 months and at first we thought he would be the mascot for the shelter. He's very happy! However, the future of the shelter is up in the air after the end of the year and I decided to take him to the Vet and get bloodwork done. He has a complete clean bill of health. Gavins home needs to be special. As much as I love all our shelter animals, Gavin lived with me for close to 8 months. He needs a very loving and caring home. Only an indoor cat. SUPER friendly and loving. Definitely a lap cat and a best friend.
